Bud Oglesby and his firm, Oglesby Group Architects, was one of the most important firms in Dallas for several decades. He has had more influence on the modernist architects working in Dallas in the twenty-first century than any other architect. He was a native of Phoenix, was raised in San Angelo and he received his masters' degree in architecture from MIT. He recognized that "Dallas residents travel a lot and there are so many choices of materials that it prevents a definitive look." His homes always had a relaxed elegance, exploring light and accommodating a family's lifestyle.
Armstrong
Tucked back from Travis and Armstrong there is an exquisite period piece of Modernism. This is the best Bud Oglesby designed condominium I have seen. The protected and intimate scale of these residences is quite elegant in a setting of restaurants and galleries. Designer Mil Bodron and lighting designer Barbara Bouyea have reinterpreted this space with the finest current lighting, hardware and materials.

Inwood Road
Here is an architect designed home that perfectly matches its owners. One of the city's finest modern architects and owners with European taste create a home that successfully marries the French influence of recent homes in Preston Hollow with the modernism of the Ogelsby group. You descend the winding driveway to see the beautifully pitched slate roofs, but instead of massive amounts of molding, the clean lines are gracefully interrupted by a hint of molding or curved decoration. The home is sited to take advantage of the bluff and creek behind it. The successful merging of opulence with restraint create a very enjoyable home.
