Strong Architectural Lines Are Gently Eroded by Soft Native Texas Plantings  The White Rock Lake house on four acres is a great example of incorporating native Texas plants and wildflowers to accentuate the long vistas to White Rock Lake and soften the strong edge of the 1930s lake home.
Classical Landscape, Influences of Italy in Architectural Training in Texas David Hocker received his landscape architecture degree from Texas A&M University, trained with Naud Burnett, and remains strongly influenced by his study in Italy and the time he spends in and around Tuscany as his wife is from Lucignano.
You can see the classical influence of Italy, softened by the agricultural gardens of Tuscany, reinterpreted with the plant life and aesthetics of Texas.
