Transitional Victorian Prairie Style Architecture

5303 Swiss Avenue
This Prairie box with a neoclassical facade has interior vestiges of late Victorian. It has a center hall floor plan, twelve foot ceilings, and open rooms. The home was the first in the historic district to be restored in 1973, and the first home to receive the Dallas Restoration Home of the Year award in 1979. There are many smaller houses found in the other streets of Munger Place and Junius Heights that have been inspired by the Prairie box with the wrap around porch and double passageways form room to room.
