Turtle Creek Circle
Bentley Tibbs was the architect for the exterior renovation of this Turtle Creek Circle home. He is a modernist who has designed and renovated both residential and commercial projects which utilize simple materials, rich colors, and natural light that exude calmness and serenity. His close attention to detail and respect for the spatial, formal, and cultural aspects of other historical periods create a beautiful space without losing the cleanness of a modern design.

Lionel Morrison, working in concert with Susan Seifert, has created the largest body of modern work in Dallas. He is a reductionist whose austere design celebrates space, the interaction of volume and voids. His buildings painted do not distract from the space with ornamental color, generally relying on white for exterior and wall surfaces. Lionel Morrison can also be credited with
introducing the first modern single-family attached home in Dallas found along the Katy Trail. His clean, stark architecture is recognizable as is the influence of his early employer, architect E. G. Hamilton. Both Morrison and Hamilton preferred an open plan versus rooms and cubicles. Mies van der Rohe was an inspiration for both, as was the Barcelona Pavilion that had clean spaces and walls of one surface, either marble or wood. Single planes of unadorned material cutting through public and private spaces on the interior and exterior, define his buildings. His practice is equally divided between commercial andresidential work, which also includes a strong practice in South America.
St. Micheal's
Bob James designed this AIA award-winning home to blend into the neighborhood
and provide dramatic views by the surrounding creek and woods. With 3,450 square
feet, it is both stylish and practical. It is sited on one-half acre overlooking
Royal Branch Creek and a public wilderness park behind it. In a gesture to the
neighborhood of 1960s ranch style homes, Vicki's Creek House blends into the
streetscape. As you pass through the front facade of translucent glass that
provides privacy from the street, you discover a splendid and open floor plan
with expansive walls with a grid of horizontal windows separating the interior
from the woods and rugged terrain of Royal Branch Creek and the park.
Turtle Creek Drive on .377 Acres
The stylish urban elegance of this home is combined with a 1/3 acre of land that stretches along the Katy Trail. The walls of split face cast stone and stucco further delineate the geometric composition of this three story home overlooking the greenbelt of Turtle Creek.
Second and third story windows and protected balconies provide views of downtown, Turtle Creek and the surrounding forest. This architecturally dramatic home and magical location is offered by Douglas Newby.
