Bluffview Neighborhood Area

Bluffview is now generally considered bounded by Northwest Highway to the north, Midway on the west, Lovers Lane on the South and Inwood and Briarwood on the east. It was incorporated by Dallas in 1943. The northeast corner of Bluffview was part of Preston Hollow Township, but is now fully considered part of Bluffview. Because Bluffview is a stunning topographic relief from the flat farmland often found in Dallas, prominent families and architects sought out building sites here. An example of this is the home Wilson McClure designed in 1938 at 4618 Shadywood Lane. It is an elegant eclectic Georgian home with a curved staircase and classically proportioned rooms.

Bluffview's beautiful setting has also drawn contemporary architects such as Bill Booziotis, Svend Fruit, Kathy and Graham Greene, Gary Olp, and Max Levy.

Bulffview is a neighborhood where original estate homes are being restored and contemporary homes are being built. Bluffview continues to gain in popularity and prestige as its setting remains unchanged and the new construction enhances rather than distracts from the tone of the neighborhood.
