Turtle Creek Corridor Region

The greatest variety and some of the most interesting homes are found in these neighborhoods between Highland Park and Downtown, East Dallas and the Tollway. Styles and ages of the homes range from Victorian homes in the State Thomas Historic District to the architect designed contemporary duplexes in Northern Heights to the highrises along Turtle Creek.

Beautiful parks line Turtle Creek and pedestrian filled commercial districts are located throughout Oak Lawn. An upscale vibrancy is seen here. When you are seated at one of the Oak Lawn sidewalk restaurants, you are as likely to see a Prada bag as you are a Chanel bag on the shoulder of a man or woman walking by. At the Starbucks on Knox on any given morning you would see, when he lived here, the Vice President of the United States, accomplished artists, students and prosperous young hedge fund managers and regular caf? house idlers. The neighborhoods have attracted the affluent, the eccentric, the stylish and the successful. This is the home of many of the finest chef-owned restaurants and specialty stores. A concentration of antique shops have given ground to the proliferation of art galleries. Cultural institutions include the Frank Lloyd Wright designed Dallas Theater Center, the Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture and the MAC (McKinney Avenue Contemporary), a delightful combination of avant-garde theater, art exhibitions and lectures.
