For many years exceptional and distinguished estate homes in Dallas were associated with the original Preston Hollow Estate Neighborhoods. At the beginning of the 21st century there has been increased attention and activity in the Walnut Hill Lane to Forest Lane estate neighborhood area. Strait Lane, of course, has always been associated with Dallas mansions but more recently, there has been a focus on the Crespi/Hicks architecturally significant estate home found on 25 acres in Mayflower Estates. There has been a wave of both architect designed modern homes, architect designed eclectic homes and new builder homes replacing the existing Preston Hollow real estate. 8 Featured Estate Neighborhoods of Walnut Hill to Forest Lane

Mayflower Estates Neighborhood - Preston Hollow Estate Area
The rolling, winding streets of Mayflower Estates, north of Walnut Hill between Gaywood and Broadmoor Park, include Dallas' largest and most important estates and also many architect designed homes from the 1950s through the early 21st century. The boundaries of this estate neighborhood are Kelsey on the north, Inwood on the west, Walnut Hill on the south and Gaywood on the west. The quiet and serene setting recalls the feel of an earlier Preston Hollow neighborhood.

Strait Lane Neighborhood - Preston Hollow Estate Area
Strait Lane, as the name suggests, is a long, straight country lane with the distinction of the largest and most substantial estate homes in Dallas. Impressive Preston Hollow estate homes found on Strait Lane are on anywhere from one to 25 acres and are owned by Dallas luminaries. These Dallas estate homes are set back from the road and on the east side of Strait Lane the land looks over Bluffview Creek in Preston Hollow.

Kelsey Square Neighborhood - Preston Hollow Estate Area
Kelsey Square consists of mainly very large builder houses from the 1960s 1970s and 1980s set in an area of looping and winding streets adjacent to Strait Lane. Many of the homes are oriented to a long circular driveway running underneath a central portico. Adjacent to Strait Lane which is the northern boundary and Bonham Sexton Lane the southern boundary, this neighborhood includes Epping, Dorset, Kelsey, and Woodford Drive. Many of the large new homes are the same size as the homes they are replacing.

Northaven Neighborhood - Preston Hollow Estate Area
Northaven is best known for its one to three acre lots and the lakes that Mid Century Modern and 1950s ranch homes overlook. New large homes are being built along with contemporary homes designed by architects such as Gary Cunningham and Sharon Odom. The northern boundary of this Preston Hollow neighborhood is Northaven, the east boundary is Strait Lane, Melissa is the southern border and Welch is the western boundary. It includes the 4600 through the 4800 blocks of Crooked Ln, San Gabriel, Melissa, and a few homes on Strait Lane.

Lobello Neighborhood - Preston Hollow Estate Area
Lobello was developed with large houses from the 1960s and more recently, homes designed by builders and increasingly well-articulated Dallas estate homes designed by Dallas architects. The northern boundary is Royal Lane, the western boundary is Inwood Road, the southern is Yolanda and the eastern border is Netherland. It includes the 5100 through the 5500 blocks of Royal Lane, Lobello, Ursula, Palomar, and Yolanda.

Brookshire Park Neighborhood - Preston Hollow Estate Area
The boundaries of this Preston Hollow neighborhood include Stone Canyon to Pagewood, to Wildglen, to Walnut Hill to Royal Lane. It consists of streets such as Meadowbriar, Forest Glade Circle, Brookshire Circle, Wildglen, Royal Lane, Pagewood, Branch Oaks Circle, Larkglen, Stone Canyon and Dovebrook.

McDowell Neighborhood - Preston Hollow Estate Area
This distinguished neighborhood is found on the block of Deloache between Preston and Hillcrest. It includes 6130 and 6207 Woodland, and 6057, 6109, and 6223 Deloache.
